BD seems to have crashed on my laptop

Hi,

Rather worryingly, BD seems to have crashed on my macbook laptop and despite signing in multiple times it keeps asking for an "activation code" without which, it seems, it wil not function. I also now see TWO icons for BD in my bar, both showing not functioning.

I am always uneasy when security capabilities fail, so anyone know how to recover this?

There was a general login issue that lasted for about 2 hours yesterday, but it has been fixed so everything should be back to normal now. They also posted an informative message in the Support Center about this.

Ahhh, clear now.

Yes, I saw that message….when the BD help/support agent told me to resolve the issue with my BD app having failed by going to Central and signing out/in; the help/support agent was clearly unaware of the issue that was hitting the site at the time.

Hi Scott,

I did so….though, sadly, the advice received was that I sign out and back in through BD Central, when I now understand that the whole issue revolved around some sort of major malfunction of Central which took it down for a while and precluded signing in-out.

The issue seems to have resolved itself now, fingers crossed.

As always, many thanks for stepping and furnishing the answer. I was a touch concerned at the time. I have to admit, I was surprised to find that the answer provided to the email I sent to help/support saying my BD cover seemed to have completely crashed, was to go to Central and log-out/log-in….when it was an issue related to Central and the Central page was carrying a notice saying it was down and was being fixed.

Still, all back to normal now.

Hi, it was not an actual article, but an announcement on top of the search bar in the Support Center, to inform users, as the Support teams started to receive inquiries about this and the situation was known.
Since the issue was resolved, the message was removed from the page. 🙂
