Where are the scan logs in Total Security?

In my humble opinion, it is a huge flaw and degradation of the software that you can no longer go somewhere simple to look at the logs for recent scans. Where the heck do you go to look at a scan that maybe you did yesterday and you need to go back and look at the log? Whoever decided to hide the feature that let you look at logs, that person needs to just be fired.

So where are the scan logs in Total Security?

It's in the same location as my AV Plus. From the main UI/Dashboard, on the left hand side, click on Notifications and they will be in the opening screen/All (or Information). If you tick the drop down arrow, it will give you the option to View log, which for scans will give you drop down arrows for more information. Apologies about the poor image quality, my laptop isn't a high resolution screen and resizing them to fit the forum, doesn't help.

Also, if you click on the "Life Preserver" icon next to My Account at the top right of the UI, is an option to view the User Guide, just a FYI.

Using the newest version of BD Total Security: Cannot view scan results either by choosing view results at bottom of completed screen or in Notifications with drop down from View Results. And can't get pathname to scan result file since I can't get that "View Results" screen to show anything. Can't do it unless I can see it. Have not been able to view scan results since I installed BD last year. Turned in this complaint but the only resolution I've had suggested was to reload BD Total Security.

In that case, I would suggest a reinstall, and see if that repairs BD. You could also contact Support going through the prompts, but chances are they would suggest the same thing. Or, do the complete uninstall and reinstall using the uninstall tool, which will uninstall everything, including the Bitdefender Agent .

In Installed Apps, go to Total Security and click Uninstall, you will be given the reinstall option.

Ok, I semi-sheepishly give my thanks.

I unsuccessfully tried several searches, including in this community chat to find such a cogent answer but admit I did not look at the user guide. When I get back to the specific computer in question, I will look again. When I try on my own computer, it does indeed show up where you say.

And no problem, the mention of the User Guide was just informational, as we're glad you were helped on this forum, that's what we're here for :) Besides, you received additional information and links the Guide would not have shown, and that may be helpful to others ;) :)

I find that it may be very difficult to find the scan results as you can't search for it. I may have several hundred notifications that the specific scan is buried in.

Adding category buttons or even a search function would be a great addition to the notifications. This would also be a great help if I wanted to find a specific application that was either allowed or not allowed access to the network!

Depending on type and severity, Bitdefender notifications are grouped in:

Critical notifications - These indicate critical issues. You should check them immediately.
Warning notifications - These indicate non-critical issues. You should check and fix them when you have the time.
Information notifications - These indicate successful operations, such as updated and their respective logs.

You can click on each tab to find more details about the generated events. Brief details are displayed at a single-click on each event title: a short description, the action Bitdefender took on it when it happened, and the date and time when it occurred.
