Regarding windows 10

My laptop is unable to load windows 11 (I have 10)...I will not be able to buy a new one until next year. Am I safe from viruses?

Depending on what you're using can help. I edited this post that Gemini Plus and I went back and forth on, to come up with these conclusions. So I apologize if it sounds a bit sterile in places, but I wanted to confirm things, to be more accurate and to give you better peace of mind, and understanding :) Realize though, poor online habits cannot always be overcome by an AV ;) :)

"Microsoft Defender will keep getting signature updates until Oct of 2028, but signatures only look for known threats. They cannot fix or patch the underlying holes left behind in an unsupported Windows 10 operating system.
