Bitdefender Mobile Security crashing since June 18th [Fixed]

On several of our phones, the application keeps crashing/restarting/crashing on Android phones (Google Pixel 8), even after uninstall/reinstall.

On one phone it started to crash today after updating the app, on another one same situation without any update at least for a week.

This is blocking some apps access that hace AppControl enabled.

Hi everyone,

Since this morning, I have this message which cames several times (homemade traduction for english, sorry if it's bad) :

Bitdefender Security has stopped automatically

I can open the app but it crashes and close the app a few seconds later.

I have uninstalled the app, rebooted the device and then reinstall the app, same end.

I'm under Android 16.

What's the next step to fix it ?

Hello I have exactly the same problem and nothing seems to be working.

Every person I know who have Bitdefender phone app have the same problem since this morning.

It seems to be global. I hope Bitdefender will correct it asap

Curious if you have the Android Device Protection on from Google after the Android 17 update.

Google has restricted access to accessibility for safety reasons. It immediately turned off the permission for Bitdefender.

Hi,

I have the same problem on my Pixel 6a. It began happening just after Android 17 update.

Before the update, while on Android 16, Bitdefender security was working properly.

I updated just an hour ago to Android 17, restarted the phone twice, and since then the Bitdefender app keeps crashing.

In the app's parameters, nothing has changed. All permissions are still activated.

Android Device Protection is not activated.

My Pixel8 is still on Android 16, not yet updated to 17.

After 2 uninstall/install, flushing cache + apps data, and enabling only some of the features, it isn't crashing anymore. It must be an issue with the BD license checking or such server access, or with recent Google or BE updates.

As far as I know, this issue was resolved last night. You can update the app and this should fix it.

My Pixel 10 Pro is still on Android 16 with a security update on 05 May 2016 and phone status says it's up to date. Now I'm dreading the Android 17 update.

I recently upgraded my Pixel 9 Pro XL to Android 17. When Advance Protection/Device Protection (Google Play Service) is enabled, BitDefender Web Protection is disabled. This was not an issue with Android 16 when Advance Protection/Device Protection was first introduced. The question is, can these two facilities co-exist given they interact with similar functions on an Android phone? The priorities and actions of each of these facilities are different with large overlaps.

UPDATE: I updated both the BD app and Android 17 and everything is working.
