My work turned into a nightmare (Autoit).

I've been using AutoIt for over 10 years and created all my scripts line by line.

Never had a single issue with it — until I installed Bitdefender.

Two months ago, Bitdefender suddenly started going crazy with my AutoIt scripts.

The weird part is that it doesn't always react immediately. I can run a scrip t 3 or 4 times with no problem, then out of nowhere I get the "Suspicious behavior" message.

Even a very simple one-line scrip t that just renames some files triggers it.

My daily battle with Bitdefender goes like this:
It quarantines the scrip t → I restore it and add it to exceptions → Bitdefender quarantines it again. This loop just keeps repeating.

The worst part:

One of my complex scripts (that I had worked on for years) got quarantined. When I clicked "Restore", Bitdefender didn't restore it — it completely deleted the file from my PC. I lost more than a year of work from 2025. I only have an old backup left.

Important notes:

• I'm using the latest version of AutoIt (downloaded from the official website).
• Bitdefender is also the official latest version.
• I reinstalled both programs.
• All scripts are 100% my own creations — nothing malicious.
• Yes, I already restarted my router (That's a joke) 😄

Any ideas how to fix this? Because right now, removing Bitdefender seems to be my only option.

First, try to add an exception for the ATD module (if you haven't done this already). Advanced Threat Defense is a Bitdefender feature that continuously monitors running processes to identify anomalies in apps behavior and correlates different suspicious behaviors to significantly improve detection. This method is different from traditional malware detection, which involves identifying malware using the virus signature database. This module continuously monitors the applications and processes running on your computer. It monitors suspicious activities such as copying files to important Windows operating system folders, executing or injecting code into other processes, multiplying them, changing the Windows registry, or installing drivers. Each action is scored, and every process receives a danger score. If the overall score for a process reaches a certain threshold, Bitdefender makes the decision to block that application.

If you already did this and the result is the same, try to disable the ATD module temporarily, at least while you're using Autoit and see how it goes.
