Inquiry regarding Bitdefender protection strength vs. the latest Windows Defender

My Bitdefender Total Security subscription is expiring soon, and I am currently evaluating my next step regarding system security.

I would like to ask a direct, technical question:How does the current protection strength of Bitdefender compare directly to the latest built-in Windows Defender on Windows 11?

As someone who values deep system security, I know that Windows Defender has improved significantly. Therefore, I want to know from a purely technical standpoint if Bitdefender still offers a distinct advantage in proactive defense and advanced threat detection that justifies choosing it over the native OS security.

I would highly appreciate a frank, technical response to help me decide whether to renew my subscription or transition to Windows Defender.

Bitdefender is the better choice for users seeking comprehensive protection with a wide range of features and excellent performance. It is especially suited for those who require advanced security features like parental controls, VPN, scam protection, etc. On the other hand, I think Windows Defender is a solid option for those on a budget or seeking essential protection without additional features.

Hardened Windows Defender with the likes of Windows DefenderUI, along with WFC (Windows Firewall Control) and the Bitdefender TrafficLight browser extension, would be an excellent free combination. DefenderUI and WFC would need to be researched a bit to realize the best way to use it, especially WFC so you don't get pop-up prompt fatigue.

I could very easliy use that set up, and be confident, but here are some of the reasons why I do like to use a 3rd party AV.

* The browser extension of an AV, and the AV will scan downloads. TrafficLight scans webpages, but not downloads. Edge does scan downloads.
* I find some 3rd party AV's do load Windows Explorer folders more quickly. At one time I had a large Dropbox folder that WD took a while to populate, whereas my AV would load it instantaneously, i.e. the AV's performance.
* I do like the added security of banking protection, whatever AV vendor who includes that feature
* I do like the the layout, features, and setting better with a paid AV (a preference thing).

Those are some of the things I've found, there maybe others of course. Do some research, check out Malwaretips forum and search their forum for topic questions. I find it to be more helpful and a better layout than Reddit, with longer more insightful topics and threads.

I do have 3 subscriptions to AV's, but have settled on 2 that I like, 1 PC has BD AV Plus installed, and 2 laptops with another vendors AV installed :) You're asking a good question, do some research and I'm sure you'll find some other great information that maybe you hadn't thought about as well.
