FluentCleaner is Malware - detected by Bitdefender

Hello all,

I just downloaded FluentCleaner from GitHub and unpacked the zip file but when I tried to launch the exe file BitDefender quarantined a few DLLs and flagged it as malware…
Is it a false positive as I suspect or should I take the threat seriously? The detected threat would be Atc4.Detection, whatever that is…

The ATC4.Detection reported by the Bitdefender product is a behavior-based detection, not a static signature created by the Bitdefender Malware Research Team. That is why it is not visible on VirusTotal.

The sample has already been shared with the Bitdefender Malware Research Team, and they have confirmed that a static detection will be created. Once it is released, it will also be reflected on VirusTotal after the updated signatures are incorporated.

If you still wish to use the software, kindly follow the steps below:

2) Set exclusions in Bitdefender Antivirus: https://www.bitdefender.com/consumer/support/answer/13427/

3) Set exclusions in Bitdefender Advanced Threat Defense: https://www.bitdefender.com/consumer/support/answer/2393/

4) Re-enable real-time protection in Bitdefender.
