Hi everyone,
I manage a website that publishes emulator setup guides and educational resources for retro gaming.
One thing I always think about is how users can verify that the files they download are safe before using them. Besides recommending antivirus scans and keeping systems updated, I'm interested in learning what other website owners and security-conscious users consider best practices.
Do you recommend:
- SHA-256 or MD5 checksum verification?
- Digital signatures where possible?
- VirusTotal scans before downloading?
- Any other security measures that help build trust with users?
I'd appreciate any suggestions or advice from the community. Thanks!
