Dreadful MacOS version of Bitdefender.

Hello.

Installed what I thought was the latest version of Bitdefender for MacOS and got the following item (see attached picture).

Bears no relation to the Bitdefender items on their website and version numbers don't match the latest version numbers.

Also you can't install the VPN from this hopeless app.

Yes, you are right, sorry about that. On both Windows and macOS the services (antivirus, VPN) can no longer be uninstalled separately, as they are bundled in the unified Bitdefender Hub by design, so everything is in one place now.

You can only uninstall everything including the VPN.

You can’t remove just the vpn, which you could with the old version.

The UI shown in your screenshot is actually the new Bitdefender App, which is gradually replacing the previous macOS interface. It has been redesigned as a unified hub for managing Bitdefender protection and additional services across different platforms, so it may look quite different from screenshots or instructions that still refer to the older version on the website. Because the rollout of the new version is ongoing and this means that not everyone got the new app yet, many of the Bitdefender pages have not been updated to reflect this. However, articles and supporting documentation is steadily been created and posted on the official website as the rollout progresses.

Can I ask what exactly you don't like about the new app? Surely it's an improved design that blends even better with the Apple UI as well..

Regarding the version numbers, the new Bitdefender App version is listed separately, because it follows a different update path than the outgoing version, so this number will not match the version shown in existing support articles or product screenshots.

I'm not a Mac user myself, but as far as I know the VPN app should normally be available from the Applications section. The uninstall steps for the previous version should apply to the new one as well:
