Accessing Amazon.com using Bitdefender VPN

US-based here. Until a month ago or so, I was able to access Amazon while connected via VPN. Now, I cannot. I have added amazon.com to the split-tunnelling settings, however, this does not help. I have to disconnect VPN in order to access amazon.com.

I've tried connecting to various locations in the US. No joy.

Please, assist.

If switching servers doesn't help, the next step would be to change the VPN protocol.

A VPN protocol is the technology responsible for creating the secure connection between your device and the VPN server. Different protocols handle network traffic in different ways. While all supported protocols provide security and privacy, certain websites, networks, or internet service providers may work better with one protocol than another. For example, a website may fail to load because of compatibility issues between its network infrastructure and the protocol currently in use. Changing the protocol allows the VPN feature to establish the connection differently, which can often resolve connectivity issues.
It's well known that some websites may detect and block traffic from VPN servers to enforce geographical restrictions. Consequently, those pages will not load or display errors when the Internet connection is filtered through a VPN, and if exchanging servers and protocols doesn't make a difference, it's quite possible that Amazon changed something in their infrastructure and they are detecting your VPN connection thus not allowing it.

The following protocols are available for Windows:

• Automatic – Automatic is the best starting point because Bitdefender selects the VPN protocol based on your device and network.
• WireGuard – Choose WireGuard if your priority is strong performance and speed.
• OpenVPN – Choose OpenVPN if you need more manual control, especially over TCP, UDP, and ports. When you select OpenVPN, additional settings become available:
  • Scramble: enable this option to add obfuscation capabilities to OpenVPN. This can help bypass network traffic sensors that try to detect and block VPN usage.
  • IKEv2 – Choose IKEv2 if you want a reliable and efficient protocol and do not need the additional OpenVPN customization options.

If Bitdefender VPN was connected when the protocol was changed, disconnect and reconnect to ensure the new protocol is applied.
