I have a question about text and email notifications when using Bitdefender Mobile Security

Question

I am a longtime Bitdefender subscriber and i have one thing that is driving me nuts. It is the scam email notifications that have gotten to the point it is crazy! I will be typing a text and i will get a notification popup about a phishing email and i want to block that text without turning off all text message notifications. One that pops up every day multiple times is from Michele Tafoya. It is nice that BD is protecting me but it is anoying.

Is there anyway to mute a specific notification or block it on my android phone?

The political ones are the worst to get stopped, you ask them to take you off their list but sometimes they don't

I am using a Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra ru  nning the latest android. I know i can block a domain from my router but is there anyway to just block a number on my phone?

What exactly do you mean by "notifications but not warnings"?

Since you mentioned the firewall, I assume you are referring to a PC?

That's nice, but what if you want the innocuous notifications, just not the warning? I keep getting notifications that my firewall is trying to send me a phishing link because it specified the URL it blocked and what device tried to access it. I really wish I could whitelist the firewall app instead of the only options being block the notification or turn off bitdefender...

Hello,

The notifications you are seeing are most likely generated by Scam Protection. This feature monitors incoming SMS messages as well as notifications generated by other apps and warns you when it detects a potentially dangerous or phishing link. There is an important distinction here, Bitdefender can detect and warn you about the suspicious message, but it cannot block or delete the SMS itself, nor can it individually blacklist an SMS sender. This is due to Android OS restrictions, so blocking the source has to be done through the messaging or email application.

If the messages from that person are arriving as regular SMS messages on your phone, you can block the sender directly from your messaging app. For example, in Samsung Messages, open the conversation, access the conversation options, and select block or block & report spam. This will prevent further messages from that number without disabling notifications for all of your other text messages.

If what Bitdefender is detecting is actually a notification generated by an email app, then blocking the phone number would not help. In that case, In this case you can mark the emails as spam/junk or block the sender from within the email service itself. Once those messages stop generating notifications on the phone, Bitdefender should no longer have anything from that sender to warn you about.
