Possible trojan or malware detection

Hello Team BD,

I have recently begun getting this error message in my Security Center notifications:

Feature:Online Threat PreventionWe blocked this dangerous page for your protection: [url removed by admin]

Dangerous pages attempt to install software that can harm the device, gather personal information or operate without your consent.

Has anyone else has received this message, and is there a possible solution?

Thank you!

Hello,

The website is flagged by multiple security vendors on VirusTotal, including BD, as malware, spam, or malicious. It is recommended that you do not interact with this website. BD is doing its job.

If you are getting this message without doing anything, it might be coming from your browser. In this case, you may need to clear your browser's cache and data, check for suspicious/recently-installed extensions, and check your browser's settings.

Thank you.

I have disabled all extensions and deleted my browsers' cache and data, but the message remains.

I'd try this, to narrow down where the problem is coming from. Create a new browser profile, without syncing the extensions or the settings. Set it as the default profile. See if the problem recurs; if it does, it may come from something else, for which you may need further help from BD, or from some other forums.

What browser are you using?

Thanks all.

I ended up doing an isolation test, deactivating and slowly turning everything back on, only to trace it to a corrupted extension in Edge, which I disabled and deleted.

Thankfully the warning message has now disappeared.

Alright, good news then. Thanks for following up here.

I had that exact problem and solved it by downloading and running the free Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool. It found two trojans and deleted them for me.
