On high latency networks, the control center loads very slow. I tried to diagnose the issue with browser DevTools and found that big JSONs (mainly translations/dictionaries) are being transferred without nginx compression, for example:
EdrEvents.getDictionary
RiskManagementTexts.getTranslationDictionary
I then checked my locally deployed GravityZone Virtual Appliance, the issue could also be reproduced there, though since it is local it's very fast. I believe the reason is MIME type text/javascript is missing from /opt/bitdefender/scripts/nginx.conf:
I manually added it locally and it immediately reduced the amount of transfer to ~260kB:
The latency to the cloud control center was the primary reason I went with on-premises deployment. I would be very happy if this can be fixed and I can go with cloud.
