I had a Total Security 10 Device plan and I just purchased as Total Security 25 device family group plan. Do I have to reinstall on every machine or can I just move the machines that I have into the family group?
Hello,
When renewing or upgrading your subscription, it's not necessary to reinstall protection on all machines where Bitdefender was previously installed (if it's still there, ofc). The protection will update on those machines according to the subscription active in your Central account, and you can reallocate devices from one subscription to another (if the previous one is still valid for a while), or the devices will be automatically reallocated to the next subscription that can cover them. For the Family Plan, the slots are split across 5 accounts, and you can choose how to allocate them (e.g. 5 devices on one account, 10 devices on another account, etc.) depending on your requirements. So, the main difference from Total Security is that your family members will now have individual Central accounts, as opposed to having all devices under your Central account, but they will be members of the same subscription, with you as the subscription manager. I'll leave a guide here for more information on the Bitdefender Family Plan and its features:

Hi
If I could just butt in. So, what difference to having 25 devices under my account in Central vs having 5 members having 5 devices each?
Hi,
The main difference is that the Family Plan can protect up to 5 people and 25 devices - with roles tailored for parents, teens, and kids. So, basically this plan offers customized security for every family member and the user experience varies according to the role they have. The Family Plan was not really designed to cover all devices under a single Central account, there's the Individual Plan for that, although that one can cover up to 5 devices. But the split doesn't really have to be 5 accounts x 5 devices, you can split the number of devices in multiple ways, as there are no restrictions here. Should you wish to have all 25 devices on a single Central account, that will work as well, but you won't be able to assign roles and the other users won't be able to benefit from SecurePass (Bitdefender's password manager). But if you are using it just for you, and if you have 25 devices (although this seems a bit far-fetched for domestic use), then sure, you can use it as you please.😊
