Google video results don't show TrafficLight icons + Brave Search support?

Noticed something weird with TrafficLight extension and wanted to see if anyone else is getting this.

Let's say, if I search youtube Taylor Swift on Google, the little green checkmarks only show up on the regular web results like the "Greatest Hits" playlist and the channel link. But the actual video results like "Wi$h Li$t (Visualizer)" and "Look What You Made Me Do" with the thumbnails have no icon at all.

If I do the exact same search on DuckDuckGo, everything gets a checkmark, including the video for "Opalite".

Weird part is when I hover over those YouTube clips on Google, the link preview at the bottom still says youtube.com, so the link is there. I tested it on both Chrome and Firefox on macOS and it's the same on both.

I get that it's still protected when you actually click, but I like seeing the checks before clicking.

Also, any chance you guys could add Brave Search? I also use Brave Search and there are no icons there at all. Would be awesome if you supported it like you do for Google, DuckDuckGo, and Bing.

Hi,

I think it's possible that Google’s dedicated video result blocks may not receive a Traffic Light rating in the same way as standard organic search results. Since you are seeing the same behavior in both Chrome and Firefox, while regular Google results are rated correctly, I don't suspect there's an actual problem with the extension. Search engines frequently use different page structures for elements such as video carousels, image results, featured results and other rich-result formats, so I think whether Traffic Light can place its rating icon next to a particular result may therefore depend on how that result is presented…

As for Brave search, this is a known limitation. Brave search is not currently among the search engines officially supported for displaying Traffic Light/Search Advisor ratings. This has also been discussed previously in the community.

One important distinction is that the absence of the green rating icon does not necessarily mean that you are left unprotected. The icon is the pre-click search result rating provided by Traffic Light, the web protection also analyzes webpages when they are accessed and the antivirus will still block harmful pages.
