Last night, I went to a site I found through google dealing with Torchlight (new runic game). As soon as the page loaded, all ###### broke out!
A particularly nasty piece of work calling itself "XP Antispyware 2010" punched straight through Firefox and Bitdefender(!) and owned that laptop in less than 2 seconds.
"XP Antispyware 2010" is a malware than pretends to be AntiVirus software and pops up incessantly with dialogs that look like an anti-virus scanner and "finds" loads of "viruses" on your system. It then says that it is unregistered and demands that you register it before it will "clean your system"
I ran BD2010 deep system scan and it came out with NOTHING! Not ONE infected file found! ZERO!! And this all the while XP-AS-2010 is popping up windows demanding my cash!
BD2010 couldnt even update itself because this XP-AS-2010 had blocked its access to the internet. It had also killed IE and Firefox browser access to the internet - I could open Safari, but could reach a bunch of sites, including Bitdefenders.
Eventually, I manually removed it using instructions found here: http://www.removevirus.org/xp-antispyware-2010.html, but it has left my machine in a very poorly state.
To say that I am disappointed in Bitdefender is an understatement - I have been purchasing licenses for our home network (3 PCs) for several years now and purchased upgrades to 2010 not 2 weeks ago. I strongly suspect that I have been paying for vaporware.

The only thing Bitdefender has even found has been cookies - sorry chaps, I can clear those out my self.
On the up side, because I purchased less than 30 days ago, I can expect a full refund.
Honestly, Bitdefender, if you cant do a proper job, stay out of the business.
ps. How long before you delete this post? I'm guessing it won't see sunset this evening.
