After a night of heavy drinking in the wake of a fundraising event,
I spent most of the day clutching a cup of coffee and repairing my OS.
I'm sure you can imagine: it sucked.
So in the aftermath, my Vista Ultimate 64 bit OS is working again.
After digging out the Vista Ultimate disc, I was able to repair my OS and restart my computer.
Next I did the update and all appears to be ok.
However, I am left wondering what to do about the following issues:
For starters, although I haven't tested every single one, most of my programs appear to be operating just fine.
However, they are still listed in the quarantine file. How is this possible and does it matter?
Related this, It seems that BD quarantined kernel files necessary for the operation of my PC.
Since the repair process I performed couldn't find the files, it simply recreated them.
Now that I am viewing my quarantine list of several thousand files, when I go to un-quarantine
the files, I am told some of files already exist and I am asked if I would like to replace them.
I did this with a few of them until I got to one that said the path was unknown which gave me
reason to pause for consideration and ask: Should I be doing this?
If I should be freeing all of these file, which seem to be working just fine, from the quarantine, is their better
way to do this than going through line by line? I think I have about 10,000 files in there.
Thanks and best,
Justin
