Girlfriends parents visited today, they have this XP thing on their laptop, I've looked it up and it seems like ###### to get rid of. They have windows xp, not sure on the service pack. they have a load of other old anti virus things like norton and yahoo something in the program list, though can't get into I E to find a removal tool.
But I was able to do a scan on bitdefender 2009, 5 infected files rid of, but the xp thing is still there, did an update on bitdefender and in the process of a deep system scan. So far 1 infected file. But if the finished scan options don't help. What advice can you please offer to correct this for them...so they don't visit for a while.
Adding on to this even though I was about to finish, the laptop has restarted, and doesn't seem like I can get pass the user selection. Again please help.
Oh I restarted and I can get pass the user selection, but the original problem is still there.
