I have been navigating through Malware Domain List and wanted see whether BitDefender could block the threats or not. I would like to say BD Heuristics engine has a success rate of ~%70 for trojans etc. However, BD surprised me by detecting none of the Fake Av setups. The Heuristic engine does not detect Fake Avs! It just lets the user to download the malicious .exe file. I have tried the same with another software I do not want to name and it detected the Fake Avs all with its heuristic engine and blocked the download. Is this a weak point of BD? Why it cannot detect Fake Av using its heuristic engine? I would like the HTTP scanner to heuristically block the download process.
