"gen:malware.heur.dnx@basgacbi", May Be A False Positive

I download Microsoft Superpack for Windows XP through a torrent. Its an ISO file. When I click on that ISO file, Bitdefender detects it as "Gen:Malware.Heur.DnX@basGACbi" and block access to it. But when I scan this ISO by Contextual Scan no threat found. I also extract this ISO by disabling Bitdefender Real Time Protection and then run the Contextual Scan again but even then no threat found.

It seems that Bitdefender Real Time Protection and Contextual Scan have different detection rates.

So why Contextual Scan can't detect that file.

Download that pack from microsoft.com, not from P2P networks.

Most probably, you have different scanning settings for Realtime and OnDemand scans. Their detection rates are identical, provided that they have identical scanning settings.

I've tested the file and it's not detected, neither OnDemand, nor on Realtime.

I will make sure about this at my end again and let you know. There are chances when I check the file, detection was present but now the virus signature "gen:malware.heur.dnx@basgacbi" may be removed.

However if the said issue remain, I'll upload the copy of that.

Also please make sure you don't have any Exclusion rules set for that file, for the location of that file, of for any folder that includes that file.

I re-scan that file which I downloaded first time, but didn't find the subject detection. So apparently the issue is resolved, but it surprised me when Bitdefender Real Time Protection find detection but Contextual Scan didn't although both have identical settings.
