Hi,
Since a week or so I have some problems with my sound device (Realtek AC97Audio) of my pc. It started when I wanted to watch a movie on IE, my pc froze and I had to shut it off. When I tried to start things up again, I had to type in my password for Administrator. Very strange, because normally it just starts without confirmation with password for the user...
After that I kept gettin' notifications about many of programs that didn't open or wouldn't work effective, which would close any program such as IE. Also the random (invisible) searching by my pc (a click like you would search yourself for a page in IE) occurs constantly. My volume works, but every 2 minutes (when i hear the click) my WAVE of the volume tampers (so no sound). I put it back up, 2 minutes later it tampers again and this for the whole day.
First I thought it was a rootkit, because the clicking and opening of websites has occured to me about a month ago. I used Rootrepeal (nothing found), Malwarebytes (found 1 in TEMP, deleted already) and AVG Anti-virus program (detected system volume information threat). I already tried MyComputer<R-Click<Properties<SystemRestore & SystemRestore by Services. None of the two possibilities worked.
