Virus Keeps Reappearing

BitDefender has removed the following virus a number of times recently. I've had a few clear scans and now today it was back again. Could someone help me with this? Funny part is, this appears to be from the Guest account and that account hasn't even been opened since my grandson left a couple weeks ago. I only have that set up for him to play his games.

Hello Nikilet,

Could you try navigating to that path and manually removing that file, then check to see if it re-appears?

Thank you. I can't really remove it manually though because BitDefender automatically removes it.I guess I could make note of it, go into the path before the scan runs to see if it is there, and if so, remove it.

I am still concerned about why am I getting this cookie virus from the Guest account when it hasn't been logged into or used ... ?

I am really puzzled. I thought when BitDefender does a scan, it scans all accounts. But it doesn't appear to be that way.

I've got my own account open, but I switch to the Guest account when my grandson is here and let him play his games from there and that is all I have on the desktop, shortcuts to his games. I also hide the task bar. In that way he can't accidentally click on one of my folders or programs. I switch back and forth between the two accounts when he is here.

BitDefender opened at the scheduled time in the Guest account on 8-14 and did a scan. It again found and deleted this "Cookies" virus. I clicked on "History" so I could check out this virus path again and a window popped up with the following message:

"BitDefender has detected the file storing BitDefender event-related information to be corrupted. BitDefender will reinitialize the file and all previous event-related information will be erased."

I clicked on the "ok" button and another window popped up with this message: Can not delete events. Access denied." It is no longer keeping a history of events. Keep in mind, this is in the Guest account.

But this is the strange part. I switched to my administrator's account and the history there is still showing, only it has not recorded the scans or events done on 8-14 or 8-15 when it performed the scans with the Guest account open. Why is BitDefender not recording and showing the same in both accounts, and what has caused this corrupted file, and now that it has emptied the history, why isn't it starting fresh and recording subsequent events/scans?

I received email notification this morning that someone called tang71p5 had posted a reply to this topic. There is no new reply from this person that I can see. In any event, I got weary of always seeming to have some problem going on with BitDefender -- small or big -- and having such a horrific time getting responses, or continued "until-it's solved" responses so I did something I've been threatening myself with for a long time. I uninstalled BitDefender IS 2009 and installed Avast Antivirus Pro 5. I love this Avast program! For right now I'm using Windows Firewall and trying to decide whether to go with the Avast suite which includes firewall, or to go with Online Armor. I can tell you one thing ... my computer boot_s twice as fast since I removed BDIS 2009.
