Windows Defender, Trojan And Bitdefender

Hi All,

I just installed Bitdefender after finding a really nasty trojan virus that tried stealing all my banking information. When I installed bitdefender, it found 6 viruses and was able to remove 5. The other it moved to quarantine.

I rebooted and went into safe mode, and ran windows defender. Windows defender seemed to find the culprit, a trojan that was something like Trojangen.hioloti32 or something.

Anyways, i rebooted in regular mode, and ran bitdefender again, and it's not finding any viruses now, but as soon as i start up the computer, it notifies me that it blocked a virus called Trojan.generic.3693086

I googled that but can't find anything. How can I remove it, if bitdefender can't? It says it's blocking it everytime, which is great, but windows defender and bitdefender can't seem to find or remove it. Also, windows defender is telling me that I don't have any malaware/virus protection, but I do, since I installed and am running bitdefender. I attached a screen prints of what windows defender says and what bitdefender says - FYI - i'm running vista.

Any ideas? I'm worried about this virus, i'm scared to do online banking or buy anything online. Thanks!

i have a similiar problem, on my vista laptop, everytime on restart , security center says that BD firewall, anti-virus, anti-spyware report that they are turned off. i look at my traybar a BD is looking perfectly fine. after a couple of mintues after restart security center goes away saying that BD is on. I noticed that u have Vista and BDAV2010. I use to have BDTS2010. I guess this is a BD problem and i think this doesnt happen with 2011. I installed 2011 on my laptop with windows vista and it stopped saying that on restart. tell me, does security center say BD is off on restart and goes away after a couple of mintues later? if it is, i guess i wasnt the only one with that problem. but i dont think it happens with 2011. upgrade to 2011. that should solve some of your problem.
