Bitdefender 2010 Does Not Find Issues - Mcafee Total Protection Does

Hello,

I have had performance issues on my computer for several months and never really had time to deal with it. When I get the new Dell Studio XPS desktop with top of the line Intel procesors and installed Windows 7 Ultimate and BitDefender on it from day one. BitDefender found 1 or 2 items over the time I have used it and said it dealt with them. Then it started having continual "issues" and during scans it would not finish. I then purchased SuperAntiSpyware and that took care of issues and continued on.

Finally the performance issues became a pain and I thought with the problem BD had with Windows systems and finding viruses that were not there etc etc I would try McAfee Total Protection. It is not done scanning and has identified over 20 virus contaminated files....

In my mind BD was never really even working...anyone with something similar?

Please post the log generated by McAfee to see exactly what it detected and verify if those are real threats or just bad detections.

Cristi referred to a log that actually contained the list of infected files, not just the overall statistics.

Well if Cristi wants to tell me how to get that log I would be happy to do so.

It is not as if I am making this up but everyone seems to want that to be the case so if you instruct me I will provide proof.

We're not looking for proof, we just want to see what exactly BitDefender missed. There is no security solution on the market which is able to provide 100% detection and protection, and there never will be such a solution (except maybe turning off your computer and unplugging it).

Furthermore, we do not offer support for other security solutions which are not released by BitDefender. If you need help with something like this, please contact the technical support department of your solution vendor. Thank you.

If you can provide a log, or maybe even some samples of infected files undetected by BitDefender products, we will be happy to forward them to the BitDefender Labs so they can be checked and properly signed.

mcafee ###### bigtime. alot of anti-viruses beat it. they could be false positives for mcafee. atleast upload them to virus total, and see if any other anti-viruses catch it. and i am not part of BD just saying there product is the best, i am just a custommer of BD.
