Hello,
Here's how you can find the Windows Search service and restart it.
Open the run box: Ctrl+R
Type in: services.msc
OK
Locate in that list Windows Search
Right click on it.
Restart.
Before following this procedure it's recommended to temporarily disable the Antivirus module in BitDefender by going in Settings.
ok, this is what i did. i opened the run box and then typed "services.msc"
then a program opened wich was services.
i scrolled down and found "Windows Search"
i then disabled BDTS2010 realtime protection until restart.
I right clicked on "Windows Search" and clicked restart.
After it was done doing whatever it was doing, I restarted my pc.
After BD pops-up blocking a virus and the file was tmp.edb
I am still getting the same problem. What should I do?
You can send me by PM a BDSI and a GMER log as described in this article to see if something injects itself at startup in tmp.edb.

If you encounter problems attaching the reports you can upload them on a server such as sendspace.com and send in only the links.
Also a screenshot showing the blocked virus at startup would be very helpful.
there are pictures here. http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?s...c=61608&hl=
I guess you have to make an account to view the pictures on the malwarebytes site.
I know that GMER is a rootkit scanner, but what is BDSI? i dont know what it stands for.
and on the site the instructions are kinda confusing. could u explain the instructions urself?
