Is2011 Firewall And Network Problems

I looked for similar posts and didn't see any. I have two computers hardwired to a wireless router and one printer connected via wireless. When the firewall is enabled on both computers, they can't communicate with each other. Also, I can't print any documents from either computer to the printer. When both firewalls are disabled, everything is fine. I did go to the NETWORK tab and attempt to connect the two, but could not do it until the firewalls were disabled. I disabled the firewalls again and set up both of them on a network OK, server and regular. After enabling the firewalls there was again no communication between the two. I have Win 7 Pro and IS 2011on both boxes. Let me know if any more info is needed and thanks for any solutions. Walt

  • Hi Walt,

Follow the steps below and let me know if the issue persist:

    1. Open BitDefender Security Center

    2. Switch to Expert View from the Options button

    3. Go to Firewall tab

    4. Go to the Network sub-menu

    5. Make the following changes for the network adapter you are currently using:

    - Network type: Trusted (allow all)

    - VPN: No

    - Stealth Mode: Off

    - Generic: Yes

Do the same settings on both PCs and test to see if the issue still occurs.

    Looking forward to your answer!
