Hi all, bombadil1977 here.  I have read the forum rules.  I am just a normal consumer, purchased bitdefender, cuz it's good.  I have a problem on my laptop and want to ask for some help.
If there's a better forum to go in, please let me know.
I have Windows XP Pro on my laptop.  Laptops a Sony, <2 yrs old, reformatted with XP Pro.  I use Mozilla Firefox.  I have had bitdefender a couple weeks now.  Have 2011.
Some URLs that I go to trigger another firefox page to open to what I am going to call spam.  Behavior is like a pop-up inasmuch as POOF! suddenly I have a new tab or sometimes a new window with a spammy location (e.g findology, gotracking, lynxtrack, gosingles, as the domains, just a few examples).  Sometimes a new tab/window opens instantly at a different URL which poofs to one of those examples.  It's not a show-stopper, I just hit ctrl-w instantly and go on with what I'm doing.  But I think bitdefender should be able to make a solution, just don't know how.
I thought maybe if I copied and pasted the URL into bitdefender's antispam (Manage Spammers list) that would maybe help, it hasn't.  I put several of the domains in to privacy control's cookies and scripts domains to be blocked, that hasn't helped.  I've been trying myself to make this stop since I bought bitdefender.
If there's a more appropriate place for me to post this, let me know.  I have searched around the forum too.  I obviously don't understand what I'm doing with this URL-spam thing.  Any ideas will be helpful.  What am I missing?
