Are There Fixes For Disabling Of Real Time Protection And Automatic Update Problem.

I am upgrading from AntiVirus 2009 to Antivirus 2011. I have an XP - SP3 system using a 1.8 GHz Pentium and 1 GB of RAM.

I have run into the following problems:

1. "Real-time protection is disabled" and when I try to start it I receive a status of "failed".

2. "Automatic update is disabled" and when I try to start it I receive a status of "failed".

3. The scans are very slow. A "quick scan" took 100 minutes. Under Antivirus 2009 a quick scan took about 5 minutes.

Has anyone received solutions to these problems? I submitted a dump (Ticket ID is 201009151010212) on Sept. 14 but

I have received no answers.

I would download and run the BF removal tool, sounds like there are registry keys that where not deleted when you did the upgrade, after you have uninstalled it re-install BD.....

Hello David,

I have sent you instructions on how to correct the issue you are facing. Please follow the enclosed steps and confirm via email if the issue has been resolved. I have merged the ticket I created with the old one (201009151010212).

The reason for the Real Time Protection being disable is due to the fact that you have all Symantec drivers installed and running and computer start-up, drivers that are not allowing BitDefender to either install or run properly.

FYI: only the BitDefender Firewall was installed and just partially. All the other drivers were not installed.

You need to remove Norton using THIS link.

NOTE: to stay on the safe side please remove ALL Symantec products, including pcAnywhere. You can install it after you reinstall BitDefender.

Restart the PC then use the BitDefender Uninstall tool:

Also remove Uniblue SpeedUpMyPC product to make sure that all Windows registry entries are correctly written.
