Trojan.iframe.kd

Hello,

I have a problem with what Bitdefender calls trojan.iframe.kd. When I do a scan everything is fine, but then the message window pops up every few seconds claiming to have blocked that trojan and moved a file to the temp directory. These are MANY 1 byte files... 118.377 files this night.

So I panicked. Downloaded and ran CCleaner, Ad-Aware, Spybot and MBAM in that order. They cannot find anything. However when I turn on the alerts on BitDefender the same message pops up and new files are added to the temp folder. At the bottom of the message window Bitdefender adds that I'm proteced, which is good to know. But then a new message pops up at once...

What might be the problem? How can I deal with this.

Certainly not adding lots of antimalware products on your machine that could create confusion at best,

Rule1:

Caution, caution, caution...

One firewall

One antivirus

One antispyware

Get rid off any other antimalware products than the one you want.

Check google, it seems the malware ifram.kd comes from mail, mainly with IE.

What I do to get rid of malwares: to plug the hard disk with an external device IDE/SATA (quite chea.p) on a well protected machine(with antimalware updates...) to be analysed. Usually, I found some pests on my friends's hard disks... however it is not a clean cut solution.

Wait for a spet to answer or ask you to use programs such as hijackthis...

use Ccleaner to get rid of temp and cookies...Ccleaner (but CCleaner has nothing to do with antimalware process itself)

Besides, use Firefox with ABP and noscript modules, it helps.

but there's always a "but"...

I deleted all these many many many 1byte temp-files created by bitdefender. And ran bitdefender again. Nothing could be found anymore.

So what do I have here? It looks to me as if bitdefender got into some sort of loop, sprouting out a tempfile that then triggered a new virus warning, creating another tempfile than then triggered a new virus warning ... etc etc.

Is that at all possible? Or is that typical virus behaviour?

Frankly now I begin to doubt that I have malware on my pc because before it happened bitdefender was already running, with daily scans, caution is my middle name (been virus free since the late 80's), I do run mozilla thunderbird, not microsoft and none of these anti-malware programs that I ran could come up with anything. I mean, what more can you do to prevent an infestation?

Are some of these steps overkill and if so which one should I drop in the future?

Well, it's doing it again. And I don't think it's funny no more.

For some reason bitdefender creates temp files of 0 Kb in the windows/temp folder which it then detects as being a virus, deletes, and then creates a new one.

What can be done here? When I check the status it sais that I'm fully protected but obviously something is wrong?

Also please provide the name of your BitDefender program along with the number of virus signatures from the Update module.
