I had some issues with my laptop before installing Bitdefender, but it seems I have more or less cleared it up except that upon startup, I get a message from bitdefender saying: "EXPLORER.EXE has been terminated because it was deemed harmful by active virus control".I have no idea what this entail but it is quite annoying and makes me worry all over again about the help of my laptop. Can someone please explain this to me.
Does bitdefender scan for rootkits? and how effective is this scan. I have some weird issues and I would like to get rid of them alltogether. If bitdefender says my system is protected, is it really?
My startup is farely slow and I would like to select only a few programs to run at startup. Does bitdefender have an option where I can choose my startup programs? What does it mean ifsome programs dont run at startup? How does this work? Why do they run anyway... Do i not only activate a program as and when i need them? Some programs need to update automatically... will they still update even though they are disabled at startup? I am also worried about my registry... I am not sure if everything is in order. Any way to check and make sure everything is running as effectively and efficiently as possible?
I am a bit worried and I don't have the PC background to make sure everything is perfect.
Its not cool when a perfectionist experience paranoia.
please help, any advice, anything.
