Bitdefender 2010 / 2010 Really Bad Products. Do Not Pay For Them. Run Away.

This is a rant.

I made the big mistake in trusting reviews in the internet when choosing my next Antivirus solution , and it seems I made the worst choose possible. I have a license of Bit Defender 2011.

This software is really, really, really bad. It's so bad it doesn't even install correctly on windows 7 64bits. If you manage to do so, you will see how your system all of the sudden start behaving weirdly with a very poor performance. And that's when the antivirus is actually working, because most of the times you'll see the "death star" which means the antivirus ISN'T WORKING AT ALL.

Oh my good. I cannot believe I paid for this amateur work.

I'm using a brand new PC, used for gaming. It has SSD, Best NVidia I could afford, great processor, fast 8GB ram, etc. You get it. Bit defender makes all this perform terribly!. I play games such as World of Warcraft and Battlefield Bad Company 2 and JESUS CRYST! it goes WORST that with my last computer. The disk (SSD disk, using a gamer motherboard to bring a really fast transfer) is 100% use according with windows 7 monitor task. I uninstaller Bit defender and now it FLYES! (don't tell me about Game mode, it does NOTHING)

How is this possible this software have such good reputation? Surely, it must be the work or the earlier versions of Bitdefender which where very good. Not anymore.

I know you, that read this, have come here looking for a solution to your problem, which is probably related to something I have mentioned. Want an advice? RUN. Stop suffering. Delete it, Throw it away and get the Microsoft Antivirus for FREE or any other solution. This software is simple useless and will render your computer into a piece of junk.

I hope you can read this before it gets deleted.

We do not delete posts because you post your opinion. I'm sorry you have such a bad impression over BitDefender. If you would like to troubleshoot the issue you encounter please follow the steps below:

1. Download this file:

http://www.bitdefender.com/files/Knowledge...ile/sysdump.exe

2. Locate and open 'Sysdump.exe'

3. A command prompt window will appear on your screen. Please note that the information gathering process can take several minutes therefore please wait until the window disappear by itself.

4. The result will be the file called 'SYSDUMP.TAR'

5. When you have the sysdump.tar please upload it HERE

6. Include a DETAILED description of the issue you encounter: reproduce the steps you take until the issue occur and, if possible, enclose a screenshot of any error message you receive.

7. Send me a PM (Private Message) with the download link and one for the topic you started.

Note that I also use on my personal PC BitDefender and I also play WoW however I have no issues with BitDefender. If you don't know how to install / configure it that doesn't mean it's a bad product.

Excuse me! I have followed carefully the many instructions to install Bit defender. The MANY instruction you find all around these forums.

And I won't do what you ask, for several reasons. First of them is that i have already moved to a better solution; a another antivirus software that doesn't require the planets to be aligned in order to work. Second, because I paid (repeat PAID) for a product and I want it to work as advertised, which it doesn't. And instead, you ask me to work for you as a beta tester sending you reports that helps you finish your software. And third, because It won't help at all, as you surely have plenty of those reports from other users (as I can see by just scamming these forums) and you have done NOTHING since version 2009.

Do you think it's normal I have to go though all that configuration and setup, checking processes and dump files and installing, desinstalling stuff just to try make this work? And how come the first time i tried version 2011 windows 7 (with a fresh installed O.S.) just went into blue screen of death?

Ha! that's funny, and on top of all that you insult me saying "Don't blame bitdefender if you don't know how to install it?" how dare you. Really. Completely outrageous.

By the way uninstall bitdefender and you'll see how zoning in WoW is MUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCH faster. You'r welcome.

The logs I asked you to generate is the simplest way in trying to assist you. Also the first step in trying to identify the issue you encountered. Yes, I can say that you do not know how to install it since there are A LOT OF USERS having no issues in installing and using BitDefender.

As I just said, I have NO issues whatsoever with BitDefender and I am playing several MMORPGs.
