Bitdefender Side-by-side Configuration Is Incorrect [solved]

Hi,

We have a user with a Vista laptop using Total Security 2011 and is getting a "side-by-side configuration is incorrect".

Any ideas for resolving this?

Hello,

Yes and it's a common issue. Note that the issue is NOT on BitDefender ends but on Microsofts.

You need to:

1. Uninstall ALL C++ Redistributables from Add/Remove Programs

2. Restart the PC

3. Restart the PC again

4. Save then right click on the BitDefender Uninstall Tool and select Run as Administrator;

5. Click on the Uninstall button and wait to be asked to restart the PC

6. Install CCleaner and run both cleaning processes: for temporary files and for invalid Windows entries and restart the PC when the cleaning is complete.

7. Download the BitDefender kit from the links below:

32-bit

64-bit

8. Right click on the file and select Run as Administrator.

Note: DO NOT install any C++ Redistributable packs, let BitDefender to install them for you and the BdAgent issue should be resolved.

Please confirm the issue was resolved.
