Firefox Does Not Open After Closing

Hello,

I have Bitdefender Total Security 2011 and it works fine when I browse using Firefox 3.6.12. Although, I have noticed that the browsing speed has gone down. After, I close all the firefox windows and then I try to open it again after few minutes, I keep getting the message that one of the firefox browser window is open and needs to be closed before opening another one. Eventually I am not able to open the firefox browser window until I restart the system.

My OS is Windows XP - service pack 3. I also disabled "Scan web (HTTP) traffic" on BitDefender.

If anybody had the same issue and resolved it, then please let me know.

Hi Sushanth,

Please press CTRL+SHIFT+ESC keys and open the Task Manager. Look at the processes list and see if the Firefox is still listed and, if it is, right click on it and select End process tree then click on Yes.

Next follow the steps explained in THIS article then send me a PM with the generated log file.

Hello Daniel,

I have already checked my task manager a number of times. Every time I have this issue I do go to my task manager and check and never find any firefox.exe process on it. Only way to fix this issue for me is to restart my computer.

Please let me know if there is any other solution to fix it.
