Each time I start up my system I have to select that the connection for my interent is private and trusted or a public system.

I check the box but it will ask again after I shut down and start my system again. I have 3 computers and all do the same thing.

Two units are Vista and the third is XP

Anyone else with this problem... solution?

You forgot to mention a very important detail: What BitDefender product are you using and what is the network adapter causing this issue. Is the same adapter on all three PCs ?
