Need Help With Bd 2011

I have gotten hit with a rather nasty set of viruses, I have run malware bytes 197 infected, Ran spybot found more, I have ran them several times and was still having problems so I tried BD. Scanned online and cleaned 38 more I was thinking this is nice....I installed trial version ran it this evening and it found another 30+ and it asked for restart so I did, now the system will not boot. I get a drive read error.

I am running dell lattitude 600 XP with 1gig ram 250gig HDD. I have pulled the drive and ran a zone alarm on another laptop as an external drive PLease help!

Hi there,

Because the system won't boot anymore you should run a scan using the BitDefender Rescue CD and clean all the infected items.

Ok I followed the link and I downloaded[ ] bitdefender-rescue-cd.iso 06-Aug-2010 20:02 319M

Tried it on a usb drive and got NTDLR is missing so I put it on a cd and it said could not find kernel image :linux

It sounds like you may have "copied" the iso file to a CD. You need to "burn" the iso image to a CD to make it bootable.

WinXP alone can't burn an iso image to a CD but an alternative is discussed here under the section: "Do you need to create ISO image files?"

I used Image burn to burn ] bitdefender-rescue-cd.iso to a cd When I open the cd to look at the files there are 4 folders there:Casper, docs, install, isolinux, md5sum txt, and a readme there is a label on the diskBitdefenderrescu

I think that there are some files missing in the isolinux folder as there are only 5. I DL it again and the the program worked but there is still a disk read error.I guess its something that BD did and can't fix on its own. Now I just need to repair the file system with a XP disk, I guess.
