    Under the "Virus Scan" tab, at the bottom you'll see "Performance Optimization".


    Uncheck "Run Task" - it will stop scanning the PC when it is idle.

    Correct, I also believe that the reason why you run multiple scans is because of the "Scan PC when Idle" feature. You can disable it indeed from Performance Optimization under Antivirus -> Virus Scan tab having BitDefender Security Center in Expert View - you can change it from the Options button.
