Getting a "disinfection failed" message with Java.Trojan.Downloader.OpenConnection.AI Why can't BD remove this and how do I remove it?
Below are two screen shots. Thanks
Hello brassplyer,
I noticed that you're using an older version of BitDefender that has older scan engines.
To remove this type of infection I recommend you a free upgrade to BitDefender 2011 and post here the scan results.

Hi,
I'm using BD 2011 and I just got the same message, that BD can't disinfect this trojan (java.trojan.downloader.openconnection.ai)
Do you have any suggestions for how I could get rid of this? Is there another product that would do it? I have only got the antivirus software, not the pro with firewall. I operate with my installed Windows Firewall on Firefox browser.
Any advice much appreciated.

BTW: I meant is there another BD product that can help me (I didn't mean any other product on the market).
This infection is detected by what type of scan? What are your Real Time Protection Settings?
Also run Deep System Scan and post the scan log.
I recently tried doing the free upgrade to BD 2010 and it wreaked havoc on my system. Hadn't really had a problem with 2009. Looking around I discovered lots of similar negative experience with 2010, with people rolling back to 2009 in droves or going to another product.
Have the issues been fixed with BD 2011?

I see there is no answer to this issue as I have the same problem. Been waiting for sometime for help. everything they say to do the software will not do. They seem lost as what to do now.
This type of infection can be removed by clearing the Java cache from Control Panel -> Java -> Settings -> Delete files.
Also make sure that your Java is up to date.
