Loss Of Internet Access After Bd Update

After downloading and installing bitdefender 2011 for windows7, my Internet access worked fine. However, once you update BD, using either "update now" or automatically by BD, I then perminently loose Internet access.


I tried various techniques listed on this and windows7 forums, to no avail. The connection wizard could not help either.


THE WORKAROUND:


uninstall BitDefender, reboot, and Internet access is restored.


Reinstall BD and Internet access is fine. Update BD and once again, I perminently loose Internet access until I uninstall BitDefender. Kind of defeats using this software if you cannot update without loosing Internet access. True, this is the best way to avoid viruses and maleware but a bit extreme I would think :)


I submited a bug report with a generated support file to tech support, but was hoping that someone here might have a better workaround, other than reinstalling BD everytime.
