Greetings,
I've been having some difficulty with what Bitdefender calls Trojan.Generic.3914100 located in C:\=>Master Boot Record=>(Embedded EXE g)=>(Embedded EXE g). My first response was booting into Windows Recovery and using bootrec.exe to fix the MBR, however Bitdefender still detects the trojan.
There's also something interesting I found out recently. I have two hard drives; the system drive C and a storage drive D. I recently removed the hard drives for a little case cleaning, but I goofed on the reinstall and mixed up the SATA cables. The D drive ended up being the first in the sequence followed by C. The system still booted off of C, but the trojan was detected on the D drive instead.
No longer any detection on the C drive, but it moved to the D drive because it was the first in the sequence. I fixed the cables and the trojan was back on C and no longer on D. I'm a little lost on this one.
I've attached a deep scan log when the cables were mixed up.
