Log File Of Scan

hi,

I am not able to view the log file after running a scan with BitDefender Internet Security 2010 on my laptop.

Receive an error message every time asking for 'Creating association in the Folder Option control Panel'

Need to view th log because have to find out 5 objects which could not be scanned by antivirus after a malware threat (1 password protected object + 4 compressed objects). Need to find the location of these objects and delete them, if necessary.

Why can't I view the log file? And what's the solution to it

The BD log files are in standard .xml format and should be readable by your default web browser. The error message sounds like your installation of Windows does not have a file association for file type .xml so you need to check the Windows setting for this option.

Thank you for your reply.

But I checked if XML is associated with my Windows XP or not, and found that it already exists in the list of available file types.

Can you please elucidate as to why even then I am not able to view the log file? And what could be done under these circumstances?

The default application to open scan logs (XML files) is Internet Explorer.

if you installed Internet Explorer 9 (beta), then that's why you can not view the Bitdefender log. I know from personal experience. I suggest you uninstall IE9, then restart your PC and you will see that everything is resolved. Good luck
