Bitdefender 2012 Prevents File Changes

E.g. if I create a new and empty document in the windows explorer, open it with word and try to save it, word tells me that it doesn't have the rights to do so. This also happens when I try to update a word document and save it again or when I open windows and try to save the document. If I disable on-access-scan everything works fine. I am using Win 7 64bit Home Premium.

Comments

  • I sould add that this only occurs when using "docx". "doc" for example works without any problems.

  • I have exactly the same problem. If I turn of the BD 2012 Anti-Virus the changes to the Word document are saved OK. With the Anti-Virus turned on any edits to a doucment cannot be save due to a 'permissions error'. I find the same problem with docx and doc although it will save a doc file if I attempt to overwrtie the original file but not with docx.

  • +1 on this matter

  • I have the same problem using Windows 64bit ultimate for my web-page software.

Any html file I modify and try to save using Arachnophilia 4.0 will get an "Access to [path and filename] was denied" message. If I add the directory to the "Excluded from On-Access scanning" option, then the files will save correctly. It makes no difference if I run the software as Administrator or my regular username. It affects any files I save from that software as any file extension to any drive.

It doesn't seem to affect other file types from other software. My Word (using a 2002 version of the software) documents save OK after I have modified them, as do Access databases and also Photoshop CS4 images in whichever format I save them.

Everything worked fine on my pc using BD2011, only when I updated to the 2012 version did the problem start.
