What is the official position of Bitdefender regarding the dispute between Facebook and Anonymous issue will happend in 5 November?
There is no OFFICIAL responsee about this IMPORTANT issue regarding Facebook Security?
For romanian readers I start some details there:
http://ullise.wordpress.com/2011/08/31/pe-...stii-anonymous/
It is somehow embarasing for Bitdefender to not have an official statement about this... very embarasing.. it is a proof of proffesionalism.. I`m sure will prove it if it is proffesional!
Also, I have done my own reaserches about this matter.. looks like will be something.. something NEW!
Asteptam raspunsul Dumneavoastra in cateva zile, avem mai multe informatii
in legatura cu acest subiect dar parerea Dumneavoastra este cea mai
importanta in legatura cu aceasta posibila amenintare.

etc etc

I find it within my competency to answer this.
The statement of an official position by a third party with no, or indirect, involvement in a matter is by no means required of them.
If a press release will be published, you can rest assured that you will find it available in our press center at that time.
Thank you for posting in the English section of our forums. I have taken the liberty of removing the unintelligible post from this area.
And IF will not be release any press communicate regarding this? Remember, not everybody know about data back up, maybe more than 750 million peoples and relatives will be affected by Anonymous attack and will lose their informations from Facebook accounts..
How about Facebook business and products? It is a dangerous silence about this issue...
Who will be responsible for this disaster if no one of Security Experts does not make any official statement about?
For example I write a very large article about this and inform many peoples about this possible threat... and i`m not proffesional in this...

What follows are my officially unapproved two cents.
Except for your spelling, you are quite correct in your statements.
Over 750 million users spend, on average, more than half an hour being counterproductive and undermining the foundations of society, while subjecting themselves to forced marketing (you wouldn't happen to have any interest in this, would you now..).
In a worst case scenario, over 750 million individuals will spend, on average, 15 and a half hours more every month contemplating the loss of, on average, 130 friends and wondering why they've exposed themselves willingly to this realistically unavoidable scenario.
"Facebook business and products", as you put it, are companies exploiting each and every user's psychological weaknesses toward friends, be those real or imaginary, and they will indeed suffer unimaginable losses from this event - they'll lose an arguably immoral revenue stream.
But reading your words I find that you're billing yourself as both a security expert and an uninformed person at the same time.
You are talking about an event that may or may not happen. This is a feud between Facebook and some people who misunderstood a business's intentions. It is the responsibility of Facebook, Inc. alone to inform their users of the possibility of data loss, if they deem this appropriate. What you are demanding here is that security experts take responsibility for something they had no hand in creating and no word in defending.
Understand that whatever happens or, more likely, doesn't happen at that time, Facebook will just restore from backup afterwards. Because no sane business model dictates that you have one copy of data that can be sold and resold while calling it missing in action.
There you have it. The euro just depreciated thanks to that...
I guess this thread will have a very large audience, maybe is better to give us an official statement soon, more people will ask again about this and I hope will be not to late for this.

Yes. Indeed. Sorry for that. I'm using several computers and I'm not caching cookies. The forum seems to be considering every refresh as an anonymous guest.
I'd like to point out how it's 2:05 AM here and none of the people who would write a press release are at work at this time.
If you consider yourself to be a member of the press and would like an official statement as soon as it is available, please see http://www.bitdefender.com/news/ for press contact details. You may subscribe to our newsletter there if you would like to be kept up-to-date.
This topic has clearly outlived it's usefulness and I'll mark it as locked. Feel free to read the posts again if you have any more questions.
