I was doing a full system scan as well as a deep system scan. When it was done it said I had 6 Trojan viruses but said they were ignored due to limited administrative rights?
I also have the same problem - please see the attached.
It started yesterday and i did a deep scan and bitdefender ignored these trojans. If someone could help me with this - I'd appreciate it.
Hi
In order to be able to assist you please run a Deep System Scan task with Bitdefender and send us the resulting scan report.
[how to GENERATE A DEEP SYSTEM SCAN LOG]
- Before running the scan please make sure that you have the latest virus definitions downloaded via the Update module: open Bitdefender and click the "Options" button in the upper right side of the interface; Select Expert view and go to the Update menu.
- After the update process completes successfully you can proceed to running the scan task: go to the Antivirus menu and under the Virus scan tab.
Right click on Deep system scan and select Scan now.
- When the scan ends, click the "View Log" button at the bottom right of the scan window; A browser window will open displaying the scan report; Save this file on a location of your choice and then send it to us attached to your email.
NOTE! If you already ran a scan task you can send us your latest report instead.
[how to RETRIEVE THE LATEST DEEP SYSTEM SCAN LOG]
- Open Bitdefender and click the "View Logs" link on the lower right; Click the "Antivirus" tab on the left;
- In the "On-demand tasks" list (the one on the bottom) look for the latest (closest to the top) entry that reads "Deep System Scan" under the "Task Name" column and "Scan Finished" under the "Action name"; Double-click this entry and click the "View Scan Log" button at the bottom of the window that just popped up; A browser window will open displaying the scan report; Save this file on a location of your choice and then send it to us attached to your email.
We recommend using the new Bitdefender QUICKSCAN for an extra layer of protection;
[how to USE THE BITDEFENDER QUICKSCAN]
Bitdefender QuickScan is an online scanning tool that uses a new technology to combine intelligent local scanning and in-the-cloud scanning which detects e-threats in memory quickly.
- Using your favorite web browser visit: http://quickscan.bitdefender.com/ and install the required ActiveX/Plugin when prompted;
NOTE! A detailed installation and compatibility guide can always be found at:
http://forum.malwarecity.com/index.php?showtopic=23
- click on "Start" and read the END USER SOFTWARE LICENSE AGREEMENT carefully; Select the "Accept" button to use the QuickScan tool or "Exit" if you do not agree with the terms and conditions;
- Allow the scanning process a few moments to complete;
- When the scan is over click on "Report" in order to open the log in the default text editor; Save the log to a location of your choice (e.g. Desktop) and attach it in your next reply.
Thank you.
Hi - thank you for the quick response.
I have updated my virus definitions and did another deep scan. I have attached the latest deep scan results.
I did the quick scan also - and it found the same infected files. I am fine with sending you the file directly but since it has all my port and ip addresses, i don't think it is safe to attach in an open forum where anyone can access it. Is it?
Found 7 infected files!

Welcome back and thank you for the details.
Trojan.Generic.7017515 is a False Positive(Apple QuickTime Plugin from Internet Explorer/Firefox is CLEAN). Detection has been removed and the update was released in the market. Servers are synchronizing(right now) and in about one hour those files won't be detected.
Until then, please ignore those detections, reboot your machine and manually update Bitdefender.
After that rerun a Deep Scan.
We are sorry for the inconvenience.
If you still need assistance, I am here for you
Take care.
Thank you very much ! I was so worried a trojan infected my system. I will do that - and if I have further problems, I will post again.

Hi Can you please tell me when this will be fixed
It was fixed, please wait for the update to be synchronized on all the update servers.
Hi Chris - I started my computer again today and tried to update my bitdefender via Update >> Update now, but it said no update available. I'm just checking if the servers have been synchronized? I assume this is what you meant when you said manually update bitdefender? I tried to search on the support website in how to manually update, and it leads me to weekly.exe and i assume this is not what you were referring to.
HiIt was fixed, please wait for the update to be synchronized on all the update servers. Thank you.
I was finally able to update and it did not pick up the false positives. But what I noticed is that I had 552 password protected items and these items were not scanned. I don't recall ever password-protecting these items. How can i get bitdefender to check these items?
Bitdefender also noted that 1 item could not be scanned because it was overcompressed.
Please see attached. If you could assist, I'd much appreciate it. Thanks.

Hello guys
@ bitrequester
Please read this article about password protected items:
http://www.bitdefender.com/support/Passwor...-items-422.html
Now, regarding that overcompressed file.
The state Overcompressed means that the file(s) were compressed in an unusual way and Bitdefender failed to correctly extract the files. It doesn't necessarily mean that the archive is corrupted.
However, this doesn't mean that those files are infected (with Vundo, or something else). Actually, I never heard about any relation between "overcompressed" and an infection of any kind.
When a file is reported as overcompressed, it means that it just couldn't be scanned, just like the cases when a file is archived with a password.
Please run an update now from the main interface. I am sure that the situation is resolved now.
Thank you for your time.
