Microsoft Visual C++

After installing Bitedefender 2012 I have these two programs on my uninstall/ install program list:

Microsoft Visual C++ x64 Redistributable - 10.0.40219

Microsoft Visual C++ x86 Redistributable - 10.0.40219

No reason why these should be installed onto my computer, I don't even use C++.

Also when I try to uninstall these programs it tells me too turn off Bitdefender.

After I do (and I' ve also clicked don't turn off) and the programs are uninstalled, Bitdefender crashes, and i have too re install and then the C++ shows up again. If I forget about it i also get the 2008-2010 versions of the C++ program but they are no where to be found if I use the search bar function.

If anyone can help it would be much appreciated!

The listed items are requirements for most applications built using Microsoft Visual C++ 2010(10.0). Unless you are certain you have no applications on your system are using those, you should not uninstall them.

Our 2012 edition products have those as dependencies and the setup application ensures they are present.

These are just the files required to run such applications, and not those needed to develop them. On disk they each have some 6 files installed that are used in common by all products linked to that version of Visual C++. The same thing applies for older versions such as 2005(8.0) and 2008(9.0).

When running the uninstall program, you are told that Bitdefender is using those, not that you should stop Bitdefender in order to remove them. You might have noticed that even after disabling Bitdefender, those uninstall programs still said the same thing.
