I have used BD in the past, but gradually got away from it. However, I just jumped at the "Lifetime" (5 years) license for BD IS 2012 and quickly installed it. I immediately began having trouble starting my browsers - Firefox 10 and MSIE 9, each of which now required several minutes to start! Finally, I realized what the problem was - it was the "on access" scanning feature of IS 2012! So I went through the settings and disabled the "on access" scanning for the browser executables - and suddenly I was quickly able to access my browsers quickly.
It might pay BitDefender to alert new users to this "on access" scanning feature, just so they don't get upset at not being able to instantly access some programs. What I do NOT understand is why the browsers were so slow in starting up after BD IS 2012 was installed and yet other applications, like Microsoft Word, were NOT any slower in starting up. Can anyone explain this?
Thanks to the BitDefender team for all the hard work that has on into BD Internet Security 2012! Blessings TO all of you and THROUGH all of you into this world, which so badly needs peace.
