Trojan And Backdoor

The laptop my daughter uses for university shows both trojan.generic.6936374 location c:\windows\assembly\GAC_32\desktop.ini

and backdoor.generic.699532 in the file location c:\windows\assembly\GAC_64\desktop.ini

She cannot access the internet on her laptop so we cannot send the scan report directly on the internet and I do not want to transfer the file to our other computer to send it for fear of contaminating it too. How do we get rid of the virus's

Hi Gerry,

That seems to have hit some PCs lately. Which version of Bitdefender is she using? I will let those who are more qualified help you, but that info will at least give them a head start.

Since you cannot send a scan report to be reviewed, it mat be something that Rescue Mode can take care of, yet please wait for a Tech. Support Mod. to confirm a course of action.
