Antivirus Scanning Incomplete

Hi there, I have been a BitDefender user for 5 yrs and counting, I don't have much problems till encountered the 2012 version. The major problem I'm facing now is that i can never ever get a full system scan completed. Everytime i leave my com to do a scan, i go back to find that the system has restarted. Other than that it seems fine but it has rendered the most essential action an antivirus program can do, to scan the files? I'm currently on a windows vista

I'm having the same problem. But, my computer hangs anytime when I start the antivirus scanning, is there any body tell me what to do?
