Conflict Between Active Virus Control And Scan

Options

Hello.

I hope someone can help solving this issue.

I am having a conflict between Active Virus Control and Scan with BitDefender.

Active Virus Control says: Potentially malicious process detected for C:\WINDOWS\system32\KaraokeSer.exe

Scan with BitDefender says: No threats where found for C:\WINDOWS\system32\KaraokeSer.exe

I am using VIA Thechnologies in Windows XP.

What would you do?

Thanks.

    Hello :)

The behavior is normal, Active Virus Control uses behavioral analysis and the On-Access uses definitions and heuristic methods to intercept a malware.

Also, as you can see from the message, the AVC module says it found a potentially malicious process.

    Take care.

  • Thanks Christian, very good.

Do you then mean to say that instead of BD blocking the program I should do one of the following:

    a. Excluded processes (probably this one).

    b. Excluded files and folders.

    Thanks.

    Hello :)

Exclusions are separated for each module.

If you want to exclude a file from the On Access scanner, you should add it to Excluded files and folders.

For AVC(Active Virus Control) use Excluded processes and the module won't inject in the process to check for malware behavior.

Let me know if you have other questions.

    Take care.
