Full System Scan

Hi all, I have recently bought a brand new laptop and a copy of Bitdefender 2012 Total Protection, When I perform a Full System Scan, I have the preset set to 'normal' but when I switch between the antivirus settings screen and the actual scanning screen it keeps reverting back to 'custom' settings even though I have not selected any, Therefor the scan takes around 50 mins or so.

Help!?

Cheers.

    Hello :)

    Welcome to the forums!

Could you please post here some screenshots with the current situation?

    [How to take a screenshot]

    1. When the window is on the screen please press the "PrintScreen" key ("PrintScreen" is located at the top of the keyboard, at right. At this step we can not see anything, as the picture is copied into Windows's clipboard)

    2. Open a graphic editing application (We recommend using the standard Paint program, that comes with every Windows installation (Start > Program > Accessories > Paint))

    3. Paste the picture in a new Paint document;

    4. Save the file in JPEG format (BMP format is too big to send by e-mail)

    5. Attach the screenshot in your next reply.

We are looking forward to hearing from you.

  • Hi and thanks,

When I start a full system scan the settings look like this: (Pic 1)

But then when the scan has started the settings turn to this: (Pic 2)

    Any advise?

    Thanks.

    Hello :)

    Sorry for the delayed reply.

The product is functioning as designed. Those settings are set to Custom and in this way, the On Demand scanning will not interfere with the On Access module.

This decision was taken because some of the users were complaining about this situation: the On Access module was detecting the threats first and at the end of the On Demand scan, the discovered malware were logged as file not found.

By setting those to Custom, this is solved and the On Access module remains on without any interference.

    Have a great weekend!

  • Thanks for that Christian! Hope everybody on the forums has a great weekend!
