Message Boxes Ref Root Certificate- Annoying
Hi
I have recently purchased AV 2013
When I start thunderbird or Firefox I get a message saying the following-
You must close Firefox, Thunderbird and Opera in order to install the Bitdefender Root cerficate. Click OK to automatically close them and install the certificate.
How the ###### do I resolve this. Its very annoying.
WIN XP user.
See attached images of build and error.
Appreciate some help.

Hi Jimmy, and welcome
Did you allow the certificate to be installed, and is this happening every time you open Thunderbird and FF? I'm guessing that it does, since you implied that it is annoying
What version to T-bird and FF are you using?
This info. could help us.
Thanks,

Hi Columbo
FF=15
TB=15.1
Now Im pretty good with SW and I never even noticed a prompt where it was looking for permission so Im assuming it was installed.
Appreciate any comments.
So I get the error when I start TB or FF.
I just click cancel. If I click OK to install it closes the TB/FF and restarts and I get the same error. Its a never ending loop.
I use to have F-secure but decided to try Bit defender and Im getting a little frustrated.
Thanks

Hello
First of all, please close all the programs and run a repair process:

Everything should go back to normal after this.

I had one reboot and Im stuck at 65% uninstalling for the last 1 hour!
I de-installed it as I was getting nowhere.
I have re-installed it from scratch.
Same error when I start FB or TB
So tried a repair process again and it has been stuck on Install for 25 minutes

Hello
A product update was released. Your build should be 16.21.0.1504(please right click on Bitdefender icon from system tray-near the clock-and choose "About". You should see in the left side the build number).
In order for the product update to be installed, you need to reboot your machine(you should see in the Events -> "Reboot required" under the Update module).
